Our Sunday text reminds us that to be a follower of Jesus Christ, we are called not just to focus on our own survival, but instead to be the church and focus on God’s mission to bring God’s kingdom to earth. Each time we pray the Lord’s prayer, we ask for that to happen. We say, “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done.”
If you were to a give a gift to a very special person, what would you pay to give that greatest gift to someone beloved? Would you pay a million dollars? What would be too costly? Would you pay your life?
Telling the truth, that can be so subjective. Whose truth is it? How do we live with one another, giving one another space to be the individual God created each of us to be?
We seem to be living in a time when people are often misunderstood. Believe it or not, this even happened in the first century when Jesus was alive. When Jesus talked about Bread for Life, people didn’t understand him.
Join us to hear how a young boy offered up two fish and five loaves of bread and Jesus was able to feed over five thousand people and even have left overs.
