“Proclaiming the Love of God for All People” has become our call to action. We seek to engage people where they are in their faith journey and encourage them to take the next steps on their own pathway of discipleship. All of the ministries and programs are developed with the goal of making disciples here.

Children, Youth & Families
At St. Matthew’s we are passionate about the faith journey of the young people in our midst. Through occasional events and confirmation class, we nurture our youngest members in their faith.
During summer, a variety of summer camps are offered free-of-charge to children who have completed grades K-5. In July 2025, we offered camps for cooking, art, and musical theater. Please contact Kelly Riddle, Community Engagement Coordinator, for information about camps in 2026: community@stmatthews-elca.org
Outreach & Service Opportunities
At St. Matthew’s we are committed to our local Wedgwood community and beyond. Through our many ministry partners, we aim to be the hands and feet of Christ. Our Community Outreach Coordinator seeks out a variety of opportunities for the congregation to participate in ministry to the community.

Music Ministry
Music is vital to the life and ministry of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. The Music Ministry is vibrant and welcoming, combining the rich Lutheran heritage of hymnody, choral and instrumental selections of great composers, as well as a variety of musical styles. During the school year, our adult voice choir meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm and participates weekly in worship. We welcome new singers! Come join us!
In January, 2026, St. Matthew’s Handbell Choir will reconvene under a new director. The bell choir plays in worship approximately once a month, along with playing for special events on occassion.
