“Keep the main thing, the main thing.”
We have all heard that wisdom throughout our lives. This past Sunday, we were invited in our scripture to do just that.
During a request from Martha to have Jesus ask Mary to help her prepare for the many guests arriving, rather than having Mary spend her time, sitting at Jesus’ feet, Jesus says to Martha that Mary has chosen the “better” thing. I believe Jesus is not making a judgment about Mary’s actions being better, but instead is inviting Martha into building a strong and deep relationship with Jesus before she begins serving others.
Think about, if we are grounded in Jesus’ love, mercy and grace, how might it make our actions, our decisions, and our words be more like Jesus’. May we always seek first the Kingdom of God by deepening our relationship with God. Blessings in the journey.
