Preparation

Are you running around trying to get everything done for Christmas? This Sunday we had something else added to our preparation list for Christmas as we heard in Scripture John the Baptist proclaim, “Prepare ye the Way of the Lord!”

What in the world does this mean? How do we prepare for the coming of our Lord and Savior? I would invite you to think about the things that stand in the way of being able to truly accept the greatest gift of our lives, our Lord and Savior and life eternal?

Part of the preparation is being open to accept the gift of God’s love, hope, peace and joy. Some people think they are not worthy of God’s love. Some people think they don’t need God’s love and the list goes on. God’s love is for all. There are no conditions on God’s gift of love.

I pray you will open your heart to accept the greatest gift ever given, God’s love and grace. If you have any questions or wish prayer or a conversation, please email me at pastor@stmatthews-elca.org.

Blessings and prayers,
Pastor Lesley

We Are Reconciling in Christ
