“Feed My Sheep.”
That is the call Jesus gave Peter and the disciples the third time Jesus appeared to them. As we look from our perspective of the 21st century, that might not seem like a surprising call.
However, imagine Peter, who betrayed Jesus three times the night of his arrest still being asked by Jesus to Feed Jesus’ Sheep. That speaks volumes of the character of God. God does not hold our past failures against us.
God sees in us God-given gifts that we might even fail to recognize. God meets us where we are and invites us to the life-saving work of Feeding God’s Sheep.
May we hear that call in our own lives, realizing God loves us and trusts us with the work of sharing God’s message of love, grace and peace. May your week be filled with opportunities to “Feed God’s Sheep!”
