And He blessed them

For me, the most powerful words of the text for Sunday was, “And He Blessed them.”

Jesus, right before his ascension and return to God the Creator, the blessing was the last words and actions he did for his disciples as they went out to live the call that had been placed on their lives.

Think about it for us, the last thing the pastor does in the service is to bless the congregation in the name of God, the Creator, God, the Redeemer and God, the Advocate and then to send them out to the world to be the witnesses of God’s love, grace, mercy and peace, no matter what the situation.

As you go through your week, may you remember each of us have been blessed and sent out. May the Holy Spirit give us the power to proclaim in deeds and words the love and grace of God.

Prayers and peace,
Pastor Lesley
